I like listening to music. And I completely agree that it’s the world’s top pastime. To say more I could hardly imagine our life without it. Music reflects our feelings and emotions. I like different music. It depends on my mood. When I’m blue I often listen to some merry songs and feel much better. Often I prefer listening to music with good lyrics (like sting or sade, or maybe Eric Clapton). I love Eric Clapton. I think his songs are very beautiful and contain deep sense…they are about love, feelings and relationships. Sade has a very beautiful voice and her songs are both sad and …..Such music makes people think seriously about different things.  Sometimes, on my way home after a hard day at work for example, or when I’m sitting with my friends somewhere, I like listening to some energetic music like rhythm and blues or some of club music. It helps me forget about that staff I did during my working day or.

Well as regards music streaming services like MySpace and Spotify i can’t say that it’s a disadvantage to the business. On the one hand the number of people who buy music through the music stores decreases every day, as thanks to the rapid growth of science and technology people nowadays have an opportunity to cut back on buying CD’s and stream their favourite tracks from the internet that enable them to save up some money. And maybe it is not very good for music industry as it results in sales level reduction. (?) But on the other hand there are people who will always buy CD’s. And according to the survey results, the figure of those who use music streaming services amounts to only 26 percent. And often these people are aged under 35. So my mother and father, for example, always buy CD’s because they are not very good users of Internet. It’s easier for them to go to the store and buy any music they want. As for me I prefer using music streaming services because I can download any track I want, upload it to my mobile phone or mp3 player, and enjoy my favourite music at any time. Moreover there are some underground bands and remixes made by some dj’s, which are not on sale but available on the Internet. But if I decide that a collection of some good music would be the best present for some of my friends I would undoubtedly  buy a CD.

Well to tell the truth I don’t consider the music industry in Russia successful. There are few Russian artists and bands I like.  There are so many ungifted singers on the stages, that it makes me sad. On my opinion to have a good producer doesn’t mean to have good ears and voice. I think that only talented people can claim to be singers. But in spite of this more and more people who can’t sing at all appear on TV trying to show their talent they don’t really have, then they try themselves in writing, politics and so on.
